OK, remember this is a debate board, and I am going to play devil's advocate here, so please let's play nice.

LOL, true, it does. But I don't have a Stone Cold Creamery anywhere near me that I know of. The free Frosty, I admit, is tempting. But it ain't dinner. :-)

Now there was one time in college that I got my hands on a huge stack of coupons for a free spaghetti dinner at Fazoli's. You didn't have to buy anything like a soda to go with it - it was a truly free dinner. There was no expiration date, no stipulations such as "one per household" or anything, and I kid you not I had about 200 of them. They were leftover from an event at the school and someone just gave me the stack when the event was over (they were otherwise just going to throw them away).

DH and I ate SO MUCH SPAGHETTI that school year. LOL

I buy the produce when it's cheap for two reasons.

But you DO realize that there are many products that offer coupons, correct? There are websites that you can go on that you might find coupons that you DO use.

I guess it all depends on if you find them useful and worth your time and saved money. I always have. To each his own-shrug.

My parents used coupons 20-25 years ago and I have been using them for my family for over 15 years. I believe that I have saved money on things that I use, yes. Sometimes I do buy another brand that is less money than the brand with the coupone. BUT....I also shop well by taking the product on sale AND using a coupon with it and saving more money than another brand.

I have always prided myself on how well I do shopping, not only in the grocery store. I use coupons for everything I can. I had a boss one time who was too embarassed to use a coupon in their favorite restaurant. I never understood that because they WANT you to use the coupon. I always keep fast food and restaurant coupons and use them almost everytime we go out.

Again, these are just products that I found that I would possibly use. There are tons others that I don't. There are also websites to print your own coupons of products you might use more often.

Again, to each his own. Obviously there are many people who do enjoy these things as Pillsbury, Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker are

I live in New England which is why the "buy a lot of apples and get a lot more apples free" example popped into my head. The produce here will never be of the lush variety found on sale in California. But in late Fall, you can by God get apples and lots of them for very little money.
