OK, remember this is a debate board, and I am going to play devil's advocate here, so please let's play nice.

Hey, more deals at the store for those of us who take the time, right?

The United Way in my local area has had ads on the radio asking for volunteers to help teach others how to budget grocery money. I think once I have just a tad more experience with the couponing, I am going to offer to teach others how to shop like this.

The very first week I did this, I got brand name body wash for .49, free toothbrushes and toothpastes, and 6 bottles of Pert for free. I thought it was a fluke. I still can't get over the amount of things I get for pennies on the dollar or free.

Do you carry one of those big, crazy binders at the grocery store like I do?

Well then obviously, you would not print those. You really need to know your prices and sales to make things worth it. I enjoy food shopping, always have and compare prices all the time so I know if my coupon and sale item is worth it to ME.

Not everyone that is worth it to one person will be worth it to another :)

I used to have one but now I just put all my coupons in an envelope. Not very organized but I will pick out the ones I know I will use when I go shopping and if I buy something that is not on my list, I will check to see if I have a coupon for it.

Your story reminds me of one my mom used to tell me. They offer a class by me to teach you basically how to save money and invest (financial planning). My dad decided to take it many years ago and he knew MORE than the teacher and was actually teaching him things. I always went to my dad for financial advice and he was a coupon cutter and always did very well.

We don't go to the chain family restaurants any more because we found early on that many of the ethnic restaurants that my dh and I prefer (thai, indian, etc) would also serve something close to chicken nuggets. It was win-win for the entire family.

Yes, and I have been saying it also that it all depends on the products you like and your flexibility. BUT...I do think there are coupons and savings out there for everyone.

Not only chain restaurants have coupons though. We have used coupons for family restaurants too.
