OK, remember this is a debate board, and I am going to play devil's advocate here, so please let's play nice.

I understand that...but she seems to not understand the opposite.

Comparison shopping, you do that, right?
Preferences, everyone has them so you can't tell someone it WOULD have been cheaper to buy that brand because the sale product is not that much of a deal if that person does NOT prefer the brand.
So where did I say this?
So you buy all name brand items, I get that.
Why does it matter to you?
She already said, she stops there on occassion, if she forgets (and needs) something on her regular shopping trip.

Stockpiling things at their lowest prices is one way to save a great deal over time.
Last week I picked up 3 bags of wheat flour for $1/5lbs. A few weeks prior I picked up yeast and baking powder that were free after coupons. For the price of a single loaf of whole wheat bread, I can make bread for months. When I found that I could get Kashi cereal for .50 per box, I picked up a dozen boxes. I got a great deal on coffee last month, found our favorite brand, the smaller can, for $1.21 apiece. I bought 15 of them. When my local meat market put chicken breast on sale for .99/lb., I picked up 20 pounds. While I do get some funny looks at the checkout, the savings over time is tremendous.
I know how it all sounds... ridiculous! I just started shopping this way recently, personally. I picked up 16 large boxes of frosted mini wheats for .25 per box with the sole intention of giving to charity. I'm not sure $4 as a cash donation would go as far.
I think "wrong" is just a bit strong, LOL! I watch her show and have made a few of her recipes (although I can't remember which ones right off the top of my head) and they were far from "wrong".
Oh yeah -- and I always cook good food:)
