OK, remember this is a debate board, and I am going to play devil's advocate here, so please let's play nice.

I couldn't do that. My short term memory for what I have to buy maxes out at around 10 items. I have tried the no-list route and hosed myself badly as I discovered too late that I forgot toilet paper or didn't realize I was out of flour. Now I don't leave home without that list. My faith in the visual inventory has been destroyed after forgetting some essential item too many times in a row. So now I go by list only.

Not everyone has the time, inclination or liking (especially my family-lol!!) for homemade things though.

There are plenty of sites (that I posted) that have all different types of coupons. I, personally LOVE slickdeals.net. I have bought a few things on there and have been very happy.

Why do you always have to come up with some derogatory/negative reason that people don't do like you do? We're slower. We're not aware. We're not as smart.

People who don't have the time, inclination or liking for homemade things will never be able to save as much money as people who do, no matter how many coupons they clip. The bottom line is if you want to save money, avoiding convenience foods saves you MORE than coupons. You pay more for convenience, even when you use coupons. So it all depends on what is more important- saving money or convenience. If saving money is more important, convenience foods should be avoided regardless of what coupons they are purchased with.

But if one is *really* looking to save as much as they can, then that's the way to do it.

I couldn't even come up with a coherent response to that one...I'm glad that you didn't let it slide though.

I'm sure glad that she was taught to use her manners, @@.

Sorry, I was specifically thinking about food items. I neglected to mention that. Most *grocery* coupons are for foods that are either unnecessary or overpriced (Trix, cake mix, "fruit" roll-ups, mini-tacos). KWIM?
