OK, remember this is a debate board, and I am going to play devil's advocate here, so please let's play nice.

Mashed potatoes are so easy to make that I can't see buying the boxed ones. I have bought them with flavors like cheese or garlic and they were "ok" but I prefer the real thing.

So if plenty of people eat it, it's not junk?

I make lasagna too, and baked ziti and stuffed shells and manicotti.

I only use fresh....didn't mean to imply that I use the boxed.

I'm one of those people. I love m&c from a box. What does that have to do with the fact that it is nutritionally repugnant (aka nasty)?

Where did I say that?

If plenty of people eat it, it is obvious that many others do NOT think it is "nasty".

You said you only made them occasionally. I don't think they are too hard to make on a regular basis if your family enjoys them.
