I live in the Washington DC metro area and my taxes and insurance on a 2200 sq ft townhouse with an appraised value of somewhere in the 350K to 375K range is less than $3000 a year.

Yeah we wouldn't survive well there. Our house cost $75,000 almost 9 years ago. It's 1400 sq ft plus basement(2 boys

I didn't see any amounts for clothing, personal care items, household cleaning and other products, savings for home and car repairs and other emergencies, charitable contributions.

No not really.
Like childcare-this has decreased for the weekly amount but I will need more to send them on holidays off and summer vacation than I did last year
Activities-this will not be going down anytime soon since my ds has just started Kindergarten
Clothing-this will not be going down anytime soon either.
Entertainment-don't actually have a budget for this. We will usually just spend our spending money for things we do. Again this won't be going down either anytime soon-lol!!
