OK, remember this is a debate board, and I am going to play devil's advocate here, so please let's play nice.

Yes. The hypothetical family was frugal. That was one of the things I specifically said at the beginning. Like finally_me said, the family may not want to shop in thrift stores, but they might do so to meet their financial goals. They *could* shop at thrift stores. Or they could decide not to save for their kids' college and have $300 extra dollars a month to spend. Or they could have grandma provide childcare and have an extra $800 dollars a month.

Yes. Because it is possible to live here on $40K. Tina asked me what that would look like, so I figured it out. I posted twice where I got the numbers.

She said that it's possible for someone in her area to live on $40,000. And it IS possible. Whether or not anyone actually does is completely irrelevant. Just because a person *doesn't* buy thrift store clothing doesn't mean that they *couldn't*.

Not true. How do you know that they have ever size for your entire family? What if you only budgeted so much and they could not fit your needs?

<>

She gave you a very specific rundown of exactly how she figured it all out. In fact I think it was posted twice.

Yes I know and many things were left out too. I don't think I am asking too much to see a website with the info on it, am I?

Huh? Which info? I'm sorry, but I'm not about to post links to all of my utility companies information and my employer's human resources page.

No, it was 7 hours later that you added the "frugal" on your hypothetical family.

Were these websites you posted for public viewing?

So basically it is not public information? Gotcha :)

I'm sorry, but this is completely beyond ridiculous.

How would you know that they *don't* have every size the family needs? Mine does. So yes, it IS true that it is possible for some people to shop at thrift stores. Also, nobody every said anything about having to purchase 100% of their clothing at thrift stores, just that they can (hypothetically) shop at thrift stores for clothing.

Yes, since it would reveal detailed information about her place of employment, that is asking too much.
