Good point. I'm guessing that she didn't understand the meaning of "hypothetical" initially, found out what it meant and felt less than intelligent with her argument, but was too embarrassed to admit it, and so has decided to carry on this TEDIOUS point that, honestly, makes no sense.
But that's just my guess.

I don't get it -- I posted my ACTUAL take home, ACTUAL costs and ACTUAL lifestyle and yet you could care less unless you think you can prove someone is trying to HIDE their actual income and lifestyle within a hypothetical example.

This thread really reminds me of a conversation I observed between a 3-year-old and his Sunday school teacher.
Teacher: What is something nice that you could do for your brother or sister?
3-year-old: I don't have any brothers or sisters.
Teacher: Oh. Well if you did, what is something nice that you could do for them?
3-year-old: I don't have any brothers or sisters.
Teacher: But IF you did, what would be a nice thing to do for them?
3-year-old: I don't have any brothers or sisters.
Teacher: Sharing toys is a nice thing to do. If you had a brother or sister, could you share your toys?
3-year-old: I don't have any brothers or sisters...
