OK, remember this is a debate board, and I am going to play devil's advocate here, so please let's play nice.

ot but you used to say that you charged on a cc with a 0% rate while the purchase money was earning some "better" interest rate in a money market..i'm curious if you still do that.

I've done that before with a few large purchases ... but haven't had the opportunity since then.

I get $10 off every time I spend $200 on my Gap Card. It comes in handy when I need to buy a gift or one of the kids needs something.

Possibly, but how would I know how much to set the payment for, since the amount I would put on it would vary from month to month?

I guess you have to have a set amount. Not really sure. I know it can be done but I have never done it for a cc. I use automatic payment

Yeah, same here. I like knowing exactly what is being paid. Like I know that my phone bill is the same each month, my car payment is the same each month, internet/cable, car insurance, etc. The things that I would use a CC for if I used one would be things like gas and food, which would be variable, and I simply wouldn't be comfortable not knowing if my automatic payment will pay it in full that month.

How bizarre that it's not working. Maybe user names expire after 10 years? Although that doesn't sound right. The important thing is that you're still here, though. :-)

Every few months we have a large Costco run and stock up on things, so from month to month there can be a large difference in food spending - a lot one month and then hardly anything for a couple of months after that (just milk and fruit).
