I'm interested how many SAHM and WOHM are on the board. Especially after reading some of the posts for Is this board WOH dominated?

Personally, I think SAHMs who take care of themselves and their families, even if they don't do outside volunteer work, ARE contributing to society.
According to that particular poster, child care is only a contribution to society if the caregiver is paid to do it. Otherwise, it's not.
Which is a total crock in my opinion. I am a FT WOHM and have been (at least the FT WOH part! LOL) since before my son was born 25 years ago).
Caring for children either benefits society or it doesn't. Whether or not the caregiver is paid is irrelevant.
