parents to also get babysitters on the weekends. I know a married couple who both work full-time. They have a nanny who takes care of their child during the days, Monday through Friday. Then, if they have something to do on the weekend, they either have their nanny take their child home to her house for the night...or they hire a babysitter to take care of their child for several hours during the weekend so they can do their own activities.

My husband and I both work and we sometimes hire babysitters on a Saturday evening...so my DS is sleeping most of it, so it's not time we miss out on spending with him. But I wouldn't want to have babysitters/nannies watching him on the weekend. Otherwise, I would feel like we never get to see him.

What do you think?

The only time I would get a sitter on a weekend day is for a wedding or for an emergency.

Do you mean every weekend? Once a month? Once in a while? I don't understand what you're asking since you've said you use babysitters on the weekend yourself.

DH and I go out alone or with other couples occassionally. We both WOH FT. The boys LOVE when they have a babysitter, especially if it's our friend's daughter. DH and I like our couple time and we like our family time. We don't feel guilty about going out without our boys.

I understand what you are saying. As a working mom, I want to spend my weekends with my DS. However, my DH and I do feel we need to get out by ourselves. So far we have only used my parents as weekend babysitters and only ocasionally. Usually, it is just for a couple of hours at nite also. However next month we have tickets for a Broadway show.
