I don't believe that children that have parents that work outside of the house are at a disadvantage... I also don't believe that children that have a parent that stays at home somehow benifit.

"we find a better way to accomplish the goal."

So how does this work? You don't make them eat any if they don't want to? Or they do eat it or a different amount? I'm confused.

I've never liked them. There are other vegetables I don't really care for, that I still eat anyway mixed in with other things. LIke carrots--I've never liked carrots, yet I put them in soups and vegetables dishes & casseroles all the time. But I do not cook up carrots by themselves and eat a big pile of them.

I also do not cook brussel sprouts. My dh did buy a frozen bag of them sometime in the last year. I should cook them up for him someday. Instead I've used it for a bag to put on the kid's head (or other body part) when they needed a cold pack. Worked good for that!

I'm sure that I would, I have no experience with panic attacks and I didn't mean to claim that I did....just pointing out that my kids have issues as well, they aren't close to being without their own set of issues.

OK, but for the last time (I promise) what surprises me is that you would establish a rule without having considered ahead of time how you would enforce it should the need arise. I get that you never felt the need for any enforcement because the boys followed the rule after a few reminders. What I do not get is that you never considered what you would do in the event that they did not follow it, or that you have never had to enforce any so-called house rule (or so it comes across).

That was the implication I got out of it, but it's pointless to keep discussing it. If it's your statement now that you didn't mean to say your rule, with enough respect and cooperation, would work for the rest of us, there's nothing to debate.

So what is it you disagree with me about?

No. You drop the "rule." The goal is to get the child to eat a variety of foods, not to get her to follow a rule. You find another way to accomplish the goal.

I'm responding to your response to eg3. Read what she said, and how you responded.

Where did eg3 say it would automatically equal stress? She didn't. But you seem to be assuming it automatically *wouldn't* equal stress. Not true.
