Just what is a SAHM?

I was taking a class recently from a well known designer--she is on the design team for a couple of companies, she teaches classes, writes articles, and sells her own creations from time to time online.


She started her introduction by saying "I'm a stay at home mom who also....." and then went on to describe what she does professionally.

it's a pity that you answer with a joke 2 everything.it's not healthy for your dd for you to feel this way. she's young and she shouldn't be made to feel this way.

I really do know what you're trying to say and I really do know you're not trying to offend...and I have enjoyed your willingess to really engage in a good discussion here ...but I think we're all full time moms no matter what our work status is -- you're a full time mom who stays home with her kids I"m a full time mom who goes to work -as you said we're both great moms (CLEARLY! LOL ) who just do different things during the day

So that means others who work or their children attend school become part time mothers?


What about the working parent in the sahp relationship.....are they a part time parent as well?

If I choose to stay at home when my children are grown, I would then consider myself a full time house wife. What's wrong with that? You're at home on a full time basis taking care of the house, cooking meals, etc. What's the difference between that and calling yourself a full time mom when you stay home during the day to
