I was taking a class recently from a well known designer--she is on the design team for a couple of companies, she teaches classes, writes articles, and sells her own creations from time to time online.

She started her introduction by saying "I'm a stay at home mom who also....." and then went on to describe what she does professionally.

Just so you know I'm not the only mother with these types of feelings. I know people who were/are the same, and I've talked to many women

It would sure take a lot of money to be able to stay home and afford a nanny like that. : ) She's pretty lucky I guess.

At the risk of drawing some flames, can we please lay off of Mallory already? I know that people love to jump on semantics (i.e., if someone says "full time mom", someone else inevitably starts huffing about how that *implies* that somehow they are not as much of a mom, etc). But I don't know how many times she has to say that by "full time mom" or "professional mom", ALL SHE MEANS is that this is ALL she does. She eats, sleeps and breathes motherhood. She is not a mom and a bus driver, or a mom and a doctor, or a mom and librarian. She is a mom and a mom. I don't see why this has to be a bad thing, or why it impliiiiiiiies anything bad about women who are both a mom and a .

Yes, we can view her words in a variety of ways, but sweet merciful heavens, can we please stop pretending to be so DENSE? We KNOW what she means by "full time mom", we KNOW what she means by it feels like torture (yes, I say it too!) to be away from her baby - just because we don't feel the same way when we leave ours doesn't mean we should chastise her for feeling that way. Some people are more attached than others.

Anyway, I'm just sick of the Mallory hunt is all. It's like hearing someone say "Good morning" and someone else saying "What exactly do you mean by 'good'? What's so 'good' about it? Are you saying that other times of day are bad? What do you have against afternoons or evenings?"

Hang in there, I think the horse is almost dead. ;0)

You're so young. Surely by now you know we take "dust to dust" literally ;)

Oh, I do expect that you will *relax* abit, but, there are some things that you may always feel this strongly about, and others you likely won't.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing, lol.
