I was taking a class recently from a well known designer--she is on the design team for a couple of companies, she teaches classes, writes articles, and sells her own creations from time to time online.

She started her introduction by saying "I'm a stay at home mom who also....." and then went on to describe what she does professionally.

It might. But Mallory made no mention of her child suffering for those 5-6 hours, did she?

Yes, my opinion is colored by the fact that I know several families like this, including BIL and his kids.

I didn't think you were considering the definition?

You seem to disagree with me that there is more than one way to define SAHP, WOHP, and/or WAHP. Further, you seem to disagree with me that people use different definitions of SAHP, WOHP, and/or WAHP in real life. But feel free to correct me.

As long as I understand how someone is using the term, I don't really care what definition they use.

and i'm sure it's not nearly as subjective as you keep trying to make it. the fact that there is room for interpretation of whether a woman who works 2 hours a month is a wohp doesn't just blow the lid of the question of whether someone who works ten or more times that number of hours every week is a wohp.

Yes. I think this is far more likely with NICU babies. The fear isn't that the baby will have some sort of mental trauma. The fear is that the baby will have a health crisis (related to whatever kept them in the NICU) and the babysitter will have a hard time dealing with it. Even with advance instructions, a parent could easily worry that a babysitter could freeze up in the event of something which they'd never seen before such as a major seizure.
