The kids are in school, now what? I've thought of getting a job but it would have to fall between school hours which so far I can't find one. To late to take a class, maybe this fall. Didn't know it would be like this when they went to school. To me the house is so empty. I want something, so I came here and found this message board. Guess am just rambling on...

well don't sell yourself short - put together the best resume you can the best most polished outfit you can and sell yourself -- you'd be amazed how much personality plays into things! ;-)

thanks for your reply, I've spent the last couple of day's out job hunting, only to hear last night on the news that jobs in our area are down 50% to last year this time, One job I apply to had a 26+ in line just to start the first hour to chose from. So you see am worried that being a stay at home has hurt me in my job hunt. And am worried that if I had to I couldn't support myself after being a stay at home mom for 12 years, unless I go to work at a fast food place, which wouldn't pay enough to make it on my own.

uhh there is a thing called "Mother's hours", in which you work from 9am-2:30pm, you could become a mystery shopper, it's a legit job, I am one.

get a job at their school? One of my friends is a *lunch lady* at her kids school. Pay isnt wonderful but its extra $ and it is during their school hours. I actually know several people who have jobs with the school district that work out well with their kids hours.

Or get a pt retail job somewhere. Lots of places want pt people during the day. This is going on the premise you aren't looking to get rich, lol, just make some extra spending $ while kids are at school.

Have considered volunteering? You could check for opportunities at your local United Way, place of worship, or with the schools in your area.

If you want to work, you could always clean houses.
