How did your household income/potential income influence the number of children in your family? Did you and dh stop at a certain number of kids because you wanted to be able to provide certain things for each child?

and come to think of it i dont know if she writes a check every week, every month or every year. but a check of $60 a week is no different than a check for $240 a month. it still comes out to $60 a week.

If you dd wanted to take 4-5 dance classes a week, two hours each and then a 4 hour class on Saturday, would it still cost only $36/month?

I just find that weird that they would want to do it that way. Do your utilities let you pay by the day or week too? The only place I have ever paid by the week was after-care. Everything else is by the month.

That could be the result of a number of things. Your daughter may have incredible natural talent. In our town, the very best kids seldom play for the high school ensembles -- the kids who have been playing since childhood and are in the musical equivalent of the elite league are all in Youth Symphony, sponsored by our local professional symphony, not marching band or the high school orchestra.

<<Most studios have competition classes. It just doesn't have to be a special school.>>

I didn't say that it did.

I just wouldn't think most places would want to deal with money each week. It is easier for their bookkeeping to do it every month.

I have absolutely no clue. I know there is a discount for after 1 class. I don't know of any classes that are that long at that studio though.

I know at liza's school its $32 per CLASS per MONTH (and by class I mean ballet, jazz etc.. not the actual lesson) . Liza takes two classes that meet weekly, so it ends up being four or five lessons a month so we pay $64 a month -- there is a discount after 4 or more classe a month I think. At her school you have to audition to be in the 'company' which is the competition side of the school and pay a rehearsal fee, costume fees and competition fees. the average rehearsal/costume fee is $20 but most girls or boys int he company are in 5-6 numbers so that can add up quite quickly.

and I've posted the link to her school already but here it is

Not really when your oldest is best friends with the younger brother and the mom asks me to help carpool to the boy's activities because of dance lessons for the sister/daughter.

I really didn't find it hard to type a few words into google, either.
