How did your household income/potential income influence the number of children in your family? Did you and dh stop at a certain number of kids because you wanted to be able to provide certain things for each child?

Not to mention religious reasons (a lot of people in my area send their kids to Catholic school).

You are right. I know very little about either ballet or opera. This is not shocking since lots of people lack detailed knowledge of these arts. But what does that have to do with my post?
