How did your household income/potential income influence the number of children in your family? Did you and dh stop at a certain number of kids because you wanted to be able to provide certain things for each child?

I send Liza to a Catholic School for many reasons -- our city has fairly good elementary schools, disastrous middle schools and good high schools - but they are HUGE and liza is the kind of girl who can get easily lost in that shuffle. AT her tiny school she's really been able to blossom and grow and the emphasis on showing respect to one another, good behavior, accepting responsibility etc.. has been very good for her as well. I enjoy also that her school does alot of outreach to recent Somali refugees and other african refugess in the form of generous scholarships so Liza is making friends from other cultures which is wonderful. I'm fairly sure Ill keep her in parochial school through middle school but the public high schools here are quite good so she could go to public high school -- but that's six years away so i don't have to make a decision for a while!
I also chose to send her to a private school so that her school would not depend on her dad's or my address-- if one or both of us moved she could still go there and that's important to us.

<<Our school system is very good and there is no reason to have to send a child to private school.>>
Actually I don't have to send my children to a private school, I choose to.
