Waving a big hello from Lexington, Kentucky! I've lived here for about 14 years and was born and raised about 45min outside of Lexington so I've been around Lex all my life. We visit Cincy a few times a year, and yes, they have an awesome zoo. We enjoy eating on the riverboats while up there. My husband also enjoys going to the REDS games from time to time, in fact, was there last Wed nite for the big Reds vs Yankees game. We usually try to go to the zoo every yr around end of May-first of June for the annual Zoo Babies but w/my being 8 1/2mo pregnant don't think we will be taking that 2hr trip. My husband often travels thru the Cincy airport when he does go on business trips (thankfully those are few and far btw). We have friends that live in Northern Ky. My husband has family in western Ky and they go to Owensboro quite a bit. We don't get to visit them but about once every 2-3 years (and actually right now it has been longer than that since we have been there).

How long ago did you live in Lexington? How long ago since you moved from Lexington?

It is great to meet someone from home.

I lived in Lexington in 1995. I was suppose to go to UK for my junior year of college but did not quite make it. I lived with 2 guys and 3 girls in an old Victorian on Translyvania Street. I absolutly love Lexington. It is one of the prettiest, cleanest cities I have lived in. I have a friend that just moved there and I was so jealous. My family is here in Tennessee so here we stay. I really need their support right now. Otherwise, I would move to Lexington in a heartbeat.

I am going to Owensboro this weekend for Father's Day. DH is doing a triathlon and we are visiting my father in Evansville. DH keeps asking to go to Owensboro to see where I grew up. I keep telling him Owensboro in nothing exciting. Just Moonlight and the BBQ festival.

I have my 10 year reunion this year and I can not decide whether I am going or not.

Has it been awhile since you have visited Lexington? I was wondering if you've had the chance to visit the Hamburg area, fairly new, built on part of the famous Madden (as in Anita and Preston) farm? It is growing by leaps and bounds!

Nicholasville is spreading north (and every other direction) and they are getting a Kohl's Department Store, all the series of GAP stores, Old Navy, etc plus several new restaurants, and I'm hearing rumors of a big new Target (I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a SuperTarget w/Groceries. That would be worth my short drive for sure lol).

My husband in an engineer in town so we hear about all the new stuff, predicted stuff, impending stuff. He knows I get excited when he tells me about a new restaurant or store and that I just can't wait to try them out when the doors finally open on the new businesses.

Transylvania area is beautiful! We often take drives down thru there just to admire the beauty. We also enjoy driving around to view the gorgeous horse farms. We haven't gotten a chance to take in Keeneland for a couple of years (maybe the spring meet).

My best friend's daughter just had her dance recital last week @ Transy and a couple wks before my niece had hers there w/another dance school also.
