Can we please voluntarily end this thread from grlimilakinskeeper, or whatever her screen name is...it's getting too personal, and not very productive.

So how does the fact that you have a pattern of dating father figures translate into your dh not being a father figure?

LOL, smoking around kids is not gray!!!! It's very black and white. It's wrong. It's harmful. There are lifelong effects. There's nothing gray about it. Exposing your kids to carcinogens is wrong.

Being a father and being a father figure to an adult is quite another thing. I'd call my father in law a father figure but STBXH has never been one. My step father is a father figure, to me, but not to my mom in spite of their 12 year age difference. An age difference doesn't imply that a young woman is looking for a father figure. It can imply she's mature for her age.

I had a lot of responsiblity from a young age and you grow up fast when that happens. You can outgrow your peer group too.

<< I highly doubt the judge will consider it in the best interest of the girls to have smoke blown in their faces. I can't believe you'd advocate smoking around children. That is wrong on so many levels.>>

i highly doubt the judge will consider it in the best interest of the girls to have their relationship with their dad destroyed. I can't believe you'd advocated destroying his relationship with his daughters -- and them with him. THAT is WRONG on so many levels.

shades of GRAY, babe. shades of gray.

UGH. << LOL, smoking around kids is not gray!!!! It's very black and white. It's wrong.>> NO HON. It's GRAY when BALANCED against him having a relationship with his DAUGHTERS and them with HIM.

<> AS IS your destroying their relationship with their dad.

<

PLENTY of gray. Taking away their relationship with their dad is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

hey guys, i'd ask for the helmet, but i'm way beyond it now! as they say, "no good deed goes unpunished".

It is not unreasonable for the court to tell him not to smoke around the girls.

No. Try looking up the effects of second hand smoke on the web. They're well documented. No gray about it. All black.

Read my post. I explained it.

I have to laugh at him being mistaken for a father figure. Not even close, lol.

try looking up the effects on young girls who grow up without a relationship with their dad -- THAT is scary, scary stuff -- THAT's all BLACK.

as for the smoking? sure there's an increased RISK from 2nd-hand smoke, but HARDLY a certainty -- and they've already been exposed for 9 YEARS, maybe 9 more and THEN they're free and out of BOTH of your homes for 50+ YEARS...what part of this is hard for YOU to understand?

by the way, if you'd like, several of us have offered to find information about the effects on young girls who grow up without a relationship with their dad -- promiscuity, sex, high-risk-taking behavior....i can find THOSE articles if you'd like OR do you only want articles that support your tunnelistic and self-righteous point of view?

she's not advocating smoking around children. You are not seeing what she's writing. I seriously can't imagine their father is sitting there blowing smoke right IN their faces. What you are advocating.....denying a father access....is far worse. Smoking isn't illegal in your own home...and hopefully he will refrain or go outside when the girls are with him. It really sounds more like you just want to punish him and this is your way of doing that. How sad for your girls.
