I'm an educator. I teach 6th grade science and am a team leader (in charge of 4 other staff members and about 100 kids).

What type of work do you currently do? Adjunct psychology professor

How many hours a week do you spend *working*? It depends on how many classes I'm teaching, but the maximum I can teach per semester is 3 classes, which would be 9 in-class hours per week, plus I'd say an hour per day of prep and grading (if I get to work uninterrupted), so a total of about 16 hours per week.

Do you have a degree in your field, or other? Yes, master's degree in Psychology.

How many years have you been in this profession? If you include my student teaching, 6 years.

Do you consider the work you do a career? Yes, absolutely.

Is your job very social, or somewhat isolated? Very social. We get some great discussions going in class.

Anything you want to add concerning your work, profession, or career? I only wish that I was allowed to teach more classes per year!

Elaine~ are you going to go for a full-time position soon? How many classes a week would be ideal for you?

Aha, grants! Now that's recognizable!

I once worked for a company that called its quality control dept the "client satisfaction" dept. No one knew what the heck that was.

I have an idea... how many different professions were you actually aware of at 18? I mean, "lawyer" is one of those you hear about as a kid. There are thousands of things out there that people do and love that they likely never even knew existed at 18.
