Very interesting. Particularly the difference in the middle to upper income kids vs low income.
"I personally feel children need the nurture of their parents and the home," she said. "Those early years, that's when they are bonding to their family. That nurturing, only the family can give that."
I tend to agree.

So the 150 days didn't apply to
PumpkinAngel
So do you call the rest of us parents who do very similar things with their children (they are of course a bit different as children's interests are different and this is child-led) homeschoolers as well?
Who exactly is not homeschooling in your opinion?

"I'm also curious to know how jennie was lying. I'm pretty sure I'm a homeschooler, too"
Because she intentionally lied about something she knew good and well she wasn't doing (aka lying).
In post 647 she claimed to be homeschooling (see below).
Yet in post 669 she stated:
"the thing about this little debate with hlk here is that i dont for a minute believe i homeschool my children."
Do you see the discrepancy here? Again, she intentionally lied about something she knew good and well she wasn't doing (aka lying).

From post 647:
Me: On average, how many hours a day do you homeschool?
"depends on the child and the day"
ME: Do you homeschool according to a traditional 175-185 days per year schedule? Or on an untraditional schedule (i. e. including weekends and/or summer homeschooling actiivities)?
"oh no, we do year round"
ME: What kind of educational background do you have?
"my educational background is irrelevant to my ability to homeschool my child. but i do not have an education or early childhood degree."
ME: What are you reasons for homeschooling? How long have you been involved in homeschooling?
"to educate and enhance my childrens education. i have been doing this for about 14 years."
ME: How would you rate your overall homeschooling experience?
"its great i love it."
Yet in post 669 she stated:
"the thing about this little debate with hlk here is that i dont for a minute believe i homeschool my children."

"Well, to give her the benefit of the doubt, she could be talking about how many days her child actually attended school as opposed to how many days of school there are at her school. I know that Dylan won't be in school the 185 instructional days that there are at his school because he has been absent due to illnesses a few of those days. But I do know how many those days are to date because it's on his progress reports (and on my home calendar)."
You are correct. Hence the reason why I couldn't post exactly how many days my dd would be in school UNTIL the END of the year.
She's in biology professionally.

A total lack of a sense of humor isn't natural either.

"So the 150 days didn't apply to he when she was a preschooler, but a elementary school student. Exactly as it was stated before and totally against state mandated regulations."
Correction:
The alternative private school was not going against state mandated regulations.
Did you catch the part about it being an *alternative* private school?
