Very interesting. Particularly the difference in the middle to upper income kids vs low income.

"I personally feel children need the nurture of their parents and the home," she said. "Those early years, that's when they are bonding to their family. That nurturing, only the family can give that."

I tend to agree.

If you want to lie about homeschooling, go right ahead.

It's no skin off my back.

Can we please actually debate this? If I were to accuse you of lying, I'd at least try to back that up somehow. Can you do the same? Otherwise, there's no debate.

My point is that you seem to be very technical with your definitions so you weren't "working" in your garden, were you?

No, you can't debate anything with momofhk. Here's an example: On the now-defunct "other board" she repeatedly stated that her dh was a SAHM parent because he occasionally worked from home, and no amount of eye-rolling from every other poster would convince her otherwise.

She's not wearing rose-colored glasses, she's wearing a rose-colored helmet.

the reality is that every other parent on this board, and most that i know irl do exactly the same things with their kids that you do with yours - why is that so hard for you to accept. using the term homeschooling in the way that you do the homeschooling community has just exploded with participants

Who decided that those questions were only for homeschooling by your definition only?

She is doing the exact same thing you are doing.

I admire the spirit of debate shown in such total reaching for a point, but shoudn't we at least do better than "You're lying"? Btw, any hints as to who you used to be? 'Cuz I'm not figuring it out lol.

You know, I could have just as easily have answered those questions as pertaining to Dylan (who IS NOT being homeschooled) as I did for the girls (who WERE homeschooled).
