Very interesting. Particularly the difference in the middle to upper income kids vs low income.
"I personally feel children need the nurture of their parents and the home," she said. "Those early years, that's when they are bonding to their family. That nurturing, only the family can give that."
I tend to agree.

What is your definition of sin?
"If I were to accuse you of lying, I'd at least try to back that up somehow. Can you do the same?"

YOU: "Me either; I see no purpose in stretching the definition of a universally understood term. If play and enrichment at home equate to homeschooling, then cohabitation equates to marriage. They have much in common, but they're not the same."
Did you or did you not state that enrichment and homeschooling are not the same?
you know, i'm having trouble following this whole 'homeschool or not' argument. but if it's related to you having children in both public school and home environment and technically calling them *homeschooled*, i totally agree with you...in iowa, the guidelines for homeschool ALLOWED public school education up to 6 hours a day (or week?). you simply open enrolled your child for the courses you desired from the schools under the guidance of a school district administrater. this woman just happened to be the principal at my dd's school.
we considered homeschool at a point because of the carelessness we felt there...later discovered that homeschool wasn't the solution.
Here's another question for you sabina.
What is your definition of truth?
"If I were to accuse you of lying, I'd at least try to back that up somehow. Can you do the same?"
From post 752:
"It's not a question of sensitivity but of accepted definitions of a common term. If what you're doing is homeschooling, then I'd say many, many millions of kids are homeschooled. Most people just call it family life and don't feel it warrants a label usually reserved for something entirely different. Why anyone should feel it necessary to apply such a label is beyond me."
Do you or do you not accept the common definition/label of homeschooling?
Here's another one.
What is your definition of spirituality?
