Not sure how to make this a debate subject so I will just ramble along and see where it leads us.

One of my major per peeves: The idea that mean are inept idiots who don't know what they are doing without us woman folk to guild them.

I see it from time to time on various forums, ladies complaining that their DH's do every thing wrong (uh, no they just do things differently from how you may have done it).

Do you or have you every thought that your DH needed you around in order to make sure that he does things right?

For himself, no...he was a bachelor for many years before we were married and survived just fine.

Yea, when they were little I made sure that only seasonal clothes were in the drawers and outfits were matched in the drawers, they still came out with some interesting combos.

Yup. I have to be really on top of the kids' clothes, especially Samantha's.

If it means leaving crumbs on the counter, then DH and I are in trouble because we both do that.

Liza occasionally gets fed up and cleans the bathroom counters off for me -- I wonder when she'll realize I'm waiting for those moments so I don't have to LOL

>> My dh is very neat but he never wipes the kitchen counter! He just doesn't seem to "see" crumbs and such left behind when he makes a sandwich. It drives me crazy so I wipe everything down after he leaves the room, lol. <<

Oohhhhh that makes me NUTS.

hello!! so im going to reply before i read what everyone else had to say...so here it is-my dh is not completely helpless, but he is lazy. he doesnt "do" things like laundry and dishes. when he cleans up a mess, he doesnt go the extra step. sometimes that extra step HAS to be taken. like last night, my dd spilled a cup of red pop in her room. my dh cleaned it up. later that night, when i checked on them, i saw a piece of candy squished on the floor. after i scraped it up-i got a towel wet and went in there to clean up the sticky spot. i also just ran the towel along the floor-it was pink. which meant that the pop was still on the floor-a light coating was. when you have a sticky mess, you HAVE to go over and clean it up again with a wet towel/washcloth. if not, the floor will be like a movie theatres-sticky. my hubby doesnt like to pick up either. i usually do all this when i come home from work. BUT-he is responsible for making dinner almost every night, he is responsible for making sure the girls get in the shower, he is responsible for making sure my oldest does her homework and reads, and also on the days i work in the am-he is responsible for breakfasts and lunches. hes not a bad father-hes not a bad housekeeper-he just does a lot of things halfway. but-his sister is like that too. so its not just a male thing with him-its a family flaw. my sister goes to bible study every tuesday night and she had to leave a detailed list of what to do to get her dd ready for bed. i'm pretty sure the first night, my brother in law was scoping out that list to make sure he didnt forget a step. now-after 4 weeks-hes used to it. does he do everythingt o the letter like my sis does? no. but he gets along fine.
