A 2 year old and 17 month old twins. First she accomplished *that* through two surrogates! Wonderful what modern medicine can do.
Anyway, she doesnt work full time, she consults to several companies so is out of the home one full day then a few hours a day on other days. Sometimes for work, sometimes to go to the gym, etc.
She has a full time live in nanny, and two part time nannies. Essentially they always have someone with them and the kids. She feels she needs two to properly care for her three.
I immediately thought of all the comments her lifestyle would elicit from this board.
The day she and I met she had just come from a 2 hour session at the gym, and was then heading off to go do some shopping.
BTW, she's a complete rock star in industry, having 'retired' a year ago after a 30 year career that took her right up to the top of corporate America so she's definetly *earned* her right to do whatever the heck she wants.
But anyway, she feels she is a super hands on mom. I was curious what others would think?

"Well that's your opinion. I personally think its more than possible to be hands on with help."

Ok, she's more hands on than she would be if she were away from the children for 40 or 50 hours a week. She's more hands on than she would be if she didn't engage one or more of the children most of the time she's with them.

You're not sheltered if you don't know what it is; I didn't know until a few months ago. It is scary.

Compton Heights or the old Lindell Mansions, for example? All in the not so esteemed St. Louis City Schools?

Almost everyone I know on your side of the river (w/a few exceptions) attends private school, regardless of where they live. STL in general is very big on private schools....

My high school was 2500, so it was much, much smaller than my HS. I loved it though. Small classes, I really got to know ALL my professors, I had a class my senior year w/just myself and another girl. The individual attention was quite impressive.

I don't leave the house w/o full makeup on now. But 10 years ago? For classes? I rolled out of bed, brushed my teeth and put a hat on. Everyone did for classes before noon.

It's not Stephens--it's the former women's college 1/2 an hour up the highway. Up the street from where Churchill's Iron Curtain speech was (that would be DH's alma mater). My alma mater was the women's college, dh's was a men's college, now they're both co-ed and I imagine they will evenutally join as Fulton isn't really big enough to support two colleges, although I guess it has for 130 years so far.
