Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

No financial advisor would ever claim that they could guarentee a SAHM wouldn't have to work no matter what. I actually have had a financial advisor and he counted my salary as an asset. A financial advisor who claims that there is some plan which will guarentee that somebody won't have to work regardless of circumstances is a liar and a char;atan. Not that I believe for one minute that any financial advisor has ever made such a claim. YOU are the one making the claim that this can be done, not them. So what plan would YOU advise?

Ok, you've finally come up with what you consider to be plans. Whew...that was like pulling teeth. All of the plans you came up with (freezing sperm, leaving one's husband) are extremely bad plans and only a fool would follow them. ASo I now see that when you say "those women didn't plan well" it actually means that those women planned very well indeed, since your plans are extremely bad advice. Canadiantina's plan of rolling with the punches and adjusting her plans is a far better one.

The choices she gave are all better choices than the ones you gave. The things that you think are poor planning and poor choices are actually superior to any plans you have outlined (leaving your husband??? that's a plan?????)

I don't know, but it was weird to come back and suddenly see strings of deleted posts. Maybe it's a glitch? I can't imagine someone posting four consecutive posts that would warrant instant removal.

>> I do not know how this translates into 24/7/365. <<

So were you exaggerating when you suggested that if someone wasn't with their child 24/7 that they were "long distance parenting"?
