Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.

It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.
Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".
Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

We just got married. If we waited 15 years to have kids, I'd be 52!!!

>> I had kids in my twenties, and I have a 2yo now at almost 40....it was a hell of a lot easier in my twenties! lol. The sleep deprivation alone, was much easier to handle when I was younger, <<
*cries*
The sleep deprivation is the thing I am most worried about. I could deal with few hours of sleep when I was in my mid-20s, when my older two were small. Now, not so much.

In fact, I have ONLY seen proof that proves your point.

Yeah... if a financial advisor told me that, I'd wonder what they'd been smoking.

and the WOHM i know whose kids are latch key.
Most women I know who work intended to work in some capacity when they had children, but that's certainly not meant to imply that there aren't many people who intended to SAH and circumstances made it impossible.
My personal opinion is that it is a good idea to financially plan as though you (general "you") are going to try to SAH, even if you plan to WOH. That way if you change your mind, you are more likely to have that option. It's when a person plans from the beginning to WOH and then decides they'd rather SAH that things are less likely to work out. KWIM?
That's very sad and unfortunate, since it sounds like they could really use the structure and supervision.
