Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

I ripped from stem to stern. One was just shy of a 4th degree tear and the other was nearly a 3rd degree tear. Lost alot of blood. I consider it to be medical trauma. 12 years later and I still cannot ride a bicycle.

Youch! That is definitely not my idea of an uncomplicated childbirth.

There are lots of things in life that are medical situations but aren't medical traumas; and almost all of those are sufficient use of medical or sick leave: dentist appointments, orthodontia appointments, physicals, colds, the flu, tonsillectomies, broken wrists, lacerations/stitches, concussions.

Pregnancy isn't but delivery is followed by a medical recovery time.

I could have sworn I answered this earlier.

Just because society makes something available doesn't mean it's owed to you.
