Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

I don't think CLW said not worth much "to her." I believe she said not worth much to the sahm's family, in fact it would cost the family to have this sahm in their family & it was dragging them down.

>> I dont' get stressign about something just becuase it's a "big' thing - talk aobut a needless waste of energy. <<

So focusing on the dishes IS more "legitimate" than whether my DH is healthy because I can do something about the dishes, but not his health?

What an awful thing to say.

I see what you're saying, but a heart attack isn't a natural part of life. It really is a trauma. Pg and childbirth are different, and imo, that's why we should have decent maternity leave in this country.

I am looking forward to being done with pregnancy.

YDS put a beach ball in his shirt yesterday and did a pretty spot on impression of me. It was awful and funny at the same time.

That's inspiring--up until yesterday I had decided that I was going to try this labor and delivery without the epidural (although I would accept some Nubain), then yesterday I (for some crazy reason) watched a lady deliver without medication and all I can say is WOW, um I'm not so sure anymore...........Its just that I've done this twice now with heavy medication and I can hardly remember anything about their births.

Of course heart surgery is a major trauma. As you pointed out, it was necessary to save his life. His heart was injured and needed repair. I'm sorry your dh had to go through that, and of course I have no trouble seeing it as major medical procedure.

My c-sections were nothing like what your dh went through.
