Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

That's impressive! So they get paid without using sick leave, vacation time, or sabbaticals? I want to work where you work, LOL! DH can get family leave at our college, but it is completely unpaid (neither the state nor the employer provides paid leave).

Interesting....since that action is an action that damages the skin, which of course would fit the definition of injury.

Literally LOLed at your use of "bumhole". That word is far too underrated, IMO. ;-)

Yes, but that's not an *uncomplicated* vaginal birth. Ouch.

I would consider a third degree tear to be in the category of a "complication."

I second that "ouch"! A 4th degree tear definitely fits the definition of a medical trauma. I tell the doctor to stay the H.E. double hockey sticks away from with an episiotomy for that very reason - I'd rather have a 2nd degree tear naturally than have an incision possibly rip into a 4th degree tear. (Both trauma, but one more extensive)

<<I'm sure it often is, but mine was not.>>

I guess you are using a different definition here as well?

Well said, that is exactly the point of view that I'm looking at this situation as well.
