Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

"OTOH, had you graduated first, you would have shown a strong priority for education first. "

Well that was my plan, but the fact that my BCP failed is not an indicator that education was not a priority to me.

"One of the strongest predictors of whather a girl will become a teen mom is whether her mom was a teen mom. Children tend to do as we do not as we say. "

I wasn't a teen mom. I became a mom at 20. And I was born to married parents who were 28 and 33 at the time I was born. So, yeah...that doesnt apply here.

"It says that the order is education first, then kids. If you do it the other way around, you're saying kids first, and then education. "

I did them simultaneously. *shrug* I think this applies to people who TTC before finishing their education. Certainly not my case.

"If you put something off, like education, they're likely to as well."

Good thing I didn't put anything off, like education, then.

"2) your family is so wealthy whether you work or not does not impact them financially, in which case you have the luxury of doing whatever you want with your life with no consequences to anyone so enjoy."

I disagree. I think more families live close to the line than away from it.

I'm sorry, I honestly have not seen your answer to that question.

Right! That's exactly the approach I plan to take with DD. While she doesn't know NOW how I struggled, when she is old enough to understand, she will know. Granted, it was my choice to have her and I don't regret one moment of the decision, but she needs to know that what I did was not the easiest or preferred method of doing things.

LOL, you *definitely* don't want to listen to the conversation around the table at large family get-togethers! Especially when the topic turns to proctology. Hmm, maybe there's a reason why I didn't go into medicine...

<< You seem to be arguing that any c-section that was not planned is an emergency c-section.>>

Actually I thought I was quite clear about what I was arguing,
