Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.
Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".
Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

That link doesn't tell me anything about the results of NCLB.
I don't know about other states/districts, but in my state and district, NCLB-based efforts are not panning out. It's not working. And lots of money, time, and resources are being spent to comply with NCLB (mainly: testing, testing, testing, testing)... that could probably be better spent elsewhere.

<<So what would be the difference between the SAHP and the WOHP who is not offered any retirement vehicle with their company?>>
It depends.

Yes, that is why I didn't say always in my statement.

Here is a link that shows the history of NCLB - most of it was a cut and paste of previously enacted legislation.
A Short History of the No Child Left Behind Act
The No Child Left Behind Act was a reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA).
In the years since Congress enacted the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, the federal government spent more than $300 billion dollars to help educate disadvantaged children. Forty years later, only 32 percent of fourth graders can read skillfully at grade level. Many of the 68 percent who cannot read well are minority children and those who live in poverty.
In 2001, Congress added benchmarks, measurements and sanctions to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, and called it the No Child Left Behind Act. The President signed this bill into law on January 8, 2002..........

ME AGAIN:
There are quite a few GOOD things about NCLB. The testing testing testing aspect is NOT one of the good things that is in it. However, NCLB is NOT *just* about testing.
That's two different comments.

<<Again, what about the person who is not offered retirement savings at their job? How are they better off than the SAHP? >>
Again, I have not said anything about a wohp being better off than a sahp, what I have said is that
PumpkinAngel
If a WOHP is not offered any retirement vehicle from their job, they would have to plan just like the SAHP would, not any differently.
No, that is not correct, please see my previous post for details.
Edited to add, post 2991.
