Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

It depends. But the largest difference is that in most cases the wohp has earned income to "POSSIBLY" fund a retirement account for themselves and the sahp (depending of course on the definition of sahp, lol) does not have the earned income to fund a retirement account, the funding is done by the wohp.

POSSIBLY is the key word as not every wohp can fund a retirement account which would not make them any different than the sahp.

Of course, but there is an assumption that a wohp is offered retirement plans at their job.

What about the couple who has a wohp (no retirement plan offered) and a sahp in the same family?

Independent of what a workplace offers, there is Social Security which you have to pay into with payroll taxes to get benefits after retirement.

Soooo....what if that wohp was not offered retirement plans with their job? Wouldn't they have to plan just like the sahp would?

Still waiting for an answer on the wohp who is not offered retirement plans from their employer.

Yes, and do you think that will be available to yourself or your children?
What if it is not available to the wohp's who are not offered retirement plans from their employers? Don't they have to plan just like a sahp would?
