Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

This is exactly what I meant when I brought up "luck".

I think this is a lot of what I'm saying, the fact that life played a role in how their lives panned out is very much about luck, imo.

I see what you are saying but again this could all happen with the best of plans.

Oh yes, I've made this statement myself.

I don't know if you have said that specifically.

I stand by my "luck" statement. Seriously, don't you remember "Of Mice And Men"? "The best laid plans..." and all that? Luck is essential. Without luck, the best laid plans go down the tubes. Of course, if you don't have any plans in the first place, you are fairly likely to fail (although some phenomenally lucky people do manage to float through life without significant planning), but if your plans succeed, luck played a huge part.

And I can say honestly "GOOD for him".

I think we have to agree to disagree or agree we don't understand each other. I did not say luck had nothing to do with. I said being financially savvy or wise has nothing to do with luck. My grandparents were immigrants. They were poor, but my grandmother was incredibly wise with what money they had. That is not luck.

>>There are others who planned well and were wiped out by bank failures.<<

I don't know what to tell you. The mere fact the you wise with money wasn't luck, unless who you are is based on luck. I would rather not think of the ramifications of ppl blaming their bad luck on genetics.
