Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.

It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.
Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".
Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

i wasn't necessarily turning this into SAH/WOH.
friend's parenting has covered more years than mine, yes (her oldest is a junior in h.s.).
What I find funny about these discussions is:
1. There are no perfect parents.
2. Luckily you do not have to be a perfect parent.
I think that my kids are great in spite of my parenting not because of it. I have had a lot of less than perfect moments over the years, but that is balanced out by the times when I did do well.

Well-said.

Then why doesn't she

Well of course, that is true for everyone....just as work status or lack of work status does not reflect on the ability to parent.
The fact that she has darn good kids reflects on her ability to parent.

Even though I don't know her I'll go out on a limb and guess that her parenting advice is probably better than Dr. Laura's. Why? Because even if her advice is only so-so, Dr. Laura's is flat out terrible. She's set the bar so low on advice that a parent would have to be pretty bad to give worse advice than her.
