Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

I did think of that after I posted, but in order to have saved sufficient money you would have had to get an excellent education, landed a high-paid job, worked hard and saved VERY

I asked you a question on the other thread but you probably missed it, so I'll ask again.

Do you believe that low-income families should not have children?

A man is suppose to work and support his family.

You decided to work and have another person raise your children.

says WHO???? I would think that that's something that families could decide for themselves -- how to structure their finances and their family life...

dh and I are happy to BOTH work to bring in the money AND BOTH work to raise our children.

what does your dh do that you can afford to be a sahm (assuming you are even a mom)? where do you live? How many kids do you have at home?

All of the above have an effect on how much is financially needed to allow the family to live in their chosen area.

When you can show respect, I might bother to address your posts.

Nope. Yet again a COMPLETE misread. She has chosen to work AND raise kids -- instead of sah and raising them.

try again.

"Do you believe that low-income families should not have children?"

If the couple can support the child, why not? Low income earnings is not a full indicator one cannot afford a child.
