Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

It doesn't matter to the children. Society would have less troubled children to deal with.

True. If we stayed in our little apartment, got rid of both cars, got rid of our phone and got rid of our internet, then I could SAH. But of course, I don't know how my children would benefit from not being able to go anywhere and not being able to contact anyone in case of an emergency.

"I'm sorry that the men you know are incapable."

I'm sorry the women you know are incapable of raising their own children.

In what way do you think that children of working mothers are "troubled"?

How so? Is there information that children of working parents turn out more troubled than children of stay-at-home parents? I am on the verge of going to work full-time, and if there is evidence that it is harmful to the children, then I need to see that evidence soon.

LOL, exactly. The argument makes no sense to me. Especially since many of the ideological SAHMs who have posted here over the years have also argued against parents paying for their kids' college educations, for example. They are willing to limit their children's opportunities much further than I am.
