Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.
Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".
Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

Seriously. What a slap in the face to adoptive parents.

Well, I was giving the benefit of the doubt and asking a question, otherwise

Have you lived this life?

And at that, I must laugh heartily. Some of the MOST troubled children I know come from SAHM households. Heck, the kid my friends adopted had a SAHM... who pretty much ignored him to the point of neglect.

As biological and adoptive mother, I consider the source of those ignorant statements...
The belief that you can only form that special maternal bond after 9 months gestation and exclusive breastfeeding are objectively false. I love all my children equally, as does their father.
Hey now, my oldest is in middle school, the chairs are bigger....but can you imagine how it would affect my teenager to have his mother with him 24/7?

>> I am fully available to them when they are home - again, they are not usually available to me, LOL! <<
Seriously. I don't know what key parts of parenting I'm neglecting exactly, in the two hours between when they get out of school and when I get off work. Usually they spend that time doing their homework, which they rarely need my help with anymore. I suppose I could follow them to the bathroom and supervise them taking a dump? Don't want to miss any part of their lives, now....

I've seen this happen with only children who have had SAHPs. It's pretty icky.
