Militants - are they for real?

Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

"You are neglecting your home duties. You will have to complete your chores when the children are home."

Tina! Get crackin' on your chores or you will get grounded and not allowed to go to the High School dance this weekend.

I am not asking if your kids come into contact with working mothers. I am asking if you have deliberately chosen to receive the benefit that mothers in the workplace offer. That is, for example, are you spouting that mothers should not be doctors out of one side of your mouth, and yet choosing to use a female pediatrician with children to render medical advice regarding the care of your own children? Despite feeling that a/she should not be a pediatrician, and b/since she is a pediatrician, she is also not a mother. Are you calling on your female lawmakers who have given birth to support legislation that you feel benefits your family or community, while telling anyone who will listen how she should not be in that job, she should be home with her children? Are you going to a female Ob/gyn, asking her for medical care, while secretly of the opinion that she is a terrible person for being there with you while her children are with a nanny?

I do a few chores with DD in the evening and on the weekend, then spend the rest of the free time playing with and enjoying time with her. The rest of the chores get done after she is in bed or when she is napping on the weekend.

Funny how I can manage that and WOH.

Actually it sounds like her children are too busy for her, not the other way around. Why don't you start berating children who CHOOSE to be in activities as opposed to WOHMs?

I know. If they are at school (or at home after school), and need a parent, between the three of us, one or more can be there within 7-10 minutes.

You should have planned better. You should have waited to have children until cloning technology was perfected.
