Someone on another board posted this link.
http://blogs.babycenter.com/celebrities/2009/04/12/dr-laura-says-all-moms-should-stay-at-home/?scid=momstodd_20090414_A:2&pe=2U8vYLf
It's about Dr. Laura saying that all women should be SAHMs until the child is at least 3 years old.

Whether we're talking about working or staying at home, I can't quite wrap my head around what is going on inside the brains of people that apply the phrase "all women should".

Do you think militants are actually serious, or just trying to get a rise out of others?

If one believes that the only way to raise one's children is to remain in the same place as them, then one believes that the only way to continue raising one's school-age children is to homeschool them.

A little OT, but my 12yo dd told me yesterday that my involvement in her life was irritating her.

you'd be hard pressed (especially when a child gets to middle and high school where they have many teachers) to find a school that doesn't have an abundance of working moms....

right now, there are 3 of us on my team....two of them already have grown kids, but they worked when those kids were younger/home.

thanks. you just reminded me to have my nanny pay for my son's university deposit, dd's graduation expenses (dance & NYC trip) and sd's swimming lessons. Too bad we didn't know that when WE paid for all my children's religious training AND receptions for each of their bar & bat mitzvahs.....I'll have to remind her to buy food next week since that's not my responsibility and sd needs to go to the orthopedist next week.

LOL! I'm going to let them "run amok" at choir practice tonight (in preparation for a fund-raising concert for Habitat for Humanity home).....Yeah, I can see the choir director letting them "run amok".....LOL!

I'm fairly sure they'll sit there and sing the songs, but what the heck do I know? I'm just a wohm who has her kids in activities that they enjoy....
