I have a question for the working moms on the board:

Do you worry about missing your children’s important milestones because of work?

The only reason I remember "some" of my kids' first milestones is because they coincided with other memorable events. I am now in the stage where I can identify with memories of first dates and love, first time drivers, etc.

My older dd started HS this year and I'm really feeling it. I can't believe she'll be leaving home in just 3 years.

My very best friend has a high school senior and college junior; I made the remark to her that I can't believe I'll have a kid in HS next year and she said, just wait.... it flies by.. before you know it they will be in college then married...... No, I'm not ready for any of it!

Dh is OLD and he still does that, except he doesn't call me mommy at least.

Why can't I figure out how to change to all? Sorry Chris.

For some reason I have this vivid memory going through my brain.

"mommy look" "oh wait - that's not it" "mommy look" "one more time" "mommy look" "I swear I did it" "wait - one more time" "mommy look

"i am looking!!!!!"

That's ok.

For me, the firsts that really stick out were the break up of the first serious relationship, the first miscarriage (fortunately there was only one), the first time we saw our daughter walk down the aisle, the first grandchild, etc.

Oh, my daughter was horrified at what came out of her mouth! She was very apologetic afterward. I felt awful that she felt so awful, which is probably why it was so memorable.

LOL, poor kid. When dd was little, as in less than 2, she came to me bawling. It turned out that she had drawn on the wall in the living room. She must have felt inspired by the vast white canvas, but then at some point realized what she had done and freaked. She was so upset I couldn't really be angry with her. I ended up trying to console her instead.
