Missing the Milestones?

I have a question for the working moms on the board:

Do you worry about missing your children’s important milestones because of work?

Yes I am glad those toddler days are over with.

Dh & I joke that the first kid is the "starter" kid.;) One thing that has helped me as an older mom is being able to see what has worked and what hasn't among our friends and family whose children are now grown.

I don't like to think of the bad or what could be... DD will be 15 this Summer.

I really like the ages my kids are at, too. We had a family reunion this past weekend, and watching my grown nieces and nephews wrangle their small children made me kind of glad we're done with those years. I know everybody complains about the teen years, but so far, I guess we've been lucky. Or maybe we're just not far enough into them yet.

My older son's early teen years were quite difficult.

I like the stage my kids are at right now.. I really can't put my finger on a bad stage but there are things I remember that if I could have done it over again I probably would have changed, But I've enjoyed mostly everything.

Yikes, 34 years. Maybe I'd feel differently too. In my case, I waited a long time to have kids, so I'm in no hurry for it to be over.

My mom had a unplanned pregnancy long after they thought their family was complete. She had 32 years of having a minor in the house and 42 years until she had an empty nest.

That was a very strong incentive to me to take care of permanent BC when we felt our family was complete.

My theory is that the '"good" stages don't last nearly long enough and the "bad" ones last way too long.
