I saw this yesterday, I just can't comprehend not calling the police until 5 weeks after she was missing.

I remember one time when I was little 'getting lost' in a store--I was lost but my mom knew exactly where I was.

This is so seriously hinky that I'm starting to wonder if maybe she accidentally or purposefully killed the child. I say that because of the stretch of time when the girl was missing but her mom told friends and family she "was at Disney World, Universal Studios or at the beach with her 'nanny'". Why would anybody claim that their missing child wasn't missing at all but was actually at one of these places? Is it because mom knew exactly where she (or her body) actually is?

I can't help but wonder that too. Personally, I don't think she intentionally killed her, but the thought has crossed my mind that maybe something happened to the girl through some fault or neglect of the mother, and she reacted in the way that comes naturally to her - lying.

I feel so awful for that little girl, no matter what has happened. A happy ending seems like such a long shot in this case.

I wonder about the grandmother, too. She is defending her daughter saying that she waited so long to notify the police because she was conducting her own investigation! WHAT! And she said her daughter wouldn't want to reveal too much though she knows where she is because she doesn't want the person that has her to get into trouble or because this person threatened her. So ridiculous! Whatever the case may be I

Oh, it's not looking good:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/07/22/missing.florida.girl.ap/index.html
"Sheriff's deputies said her car smelled of decomposition, and a cadaver-trained German Shepherd noted a smell of human remains in the car and her yard. They said they found a stain, dirt and what seemed to be piece of Caylee's hair in Anthony's trunk."

Stay in jail. Never get the kid back. Possibly mandatory sterilization, but I'm in a cranky mood, and I might change my mind later.
