i have to admit i co-slept alot with my first DD, DH was an awesome help for middle of the night feedings, but sometimes i was just too tired adn would fall asleep nursing her in bed, oh the danger. that would be a CPS call waiting to happen by some standards now!

OMG....I was actually told that, by an aunt when my oldest was a baby! I knew taht some some people believed it, but I couldn't believe she said it to me, lol. I responded "you might call it lazy, I call it smart."

Just curiouus...why do you "have to admit"? Do/did you think that there was anything wrong with co-sleeping? Did you co-sleep with your other children?

I did not breastfeed my children (2-3 days with my dd) but they never co-slept with us. My dd went into her crib at 6 weeks, ds at about 2 weeks.

The problem with those "studies" is that they lump safely co-sleeping in the family bed with falling asleep on the couch or the reliner, drinking alcohol, taking otc or perscription medications, and all the other unsafe ways that people think of as
"co-sleeping".

I never knew co-sleeping was studied as a no no...I knew there was some contraversial opinions reguarding co-sleeping but did not knew it went as far as CPS! I like dylans Dr. policy im suprised tho that it even has to go that far. I do not recall my kids doctor even asking the question or even talking about it...maybe i forgot tho.

the examples you brought up are not what i would even consider co-sleeping...

It's a fairly controversial topic as far as parenting goes, but it's been studied for the pros and cons. The article above, I would say is middle-of-the-road.
