My little taste

Today I am getting a little taste of what it would be like if I were to SAH rather than WOH.   I am off work and DH is working.

I am getting  the errands done that I usually do Friday evening/weekends. Really enjoyed doing my grocery shopping when the stores were fairly empty.  In a bit I am going out for lunch with DD3.

I do realize that it is just a small taste.  If I were home full time I would not be doing laundry, grocery shopping or going out for lunch every day and there are some things that I would be doing that I am not today.

Actually aside from the fact that my DD1 has cancer and at least two of my other family members have the cancer gene I am pretty happy with my life.   Quitting my job would not make me any happier.  I have BTDT.  Spent 12.5 years out of the work force.  It is different it is not automatically better.   There are pluses and minuses to working and pluses and minuses to not working.  At the moment working is better for me.  If it changes then I may make a different choice.

Why is it "sad" when someone leads an honorable life working at a job she mostly enjoys, and prefers that to the things you say you would do with more time, Spring, such as cooking more elaborate meals and hanging out with friends? Perhaps she doesn't want those things. I know I don't,

What's wrong with " crappy factory job" if that is a good job that a worker enjoys? I really like my job, it is often not crappy, it is lucrative, and I get all life has to offer, a choice to work...or not.

Personally, I can't imagine working in the same job for 18yrs with very  little advancement (I guess offense meant, because you are pretty offensive).

Going through what you are going through with you dd, I would think you would see what I mean about doing other things in life that are just so more important than a job that you do not need. IMO, that would have changed my life and I would have made a turn-around and realize what IS important in life and going to a job that I truly do not need would not be it.

Not offense taken as a promotion IS on my horizon. Laughing

What makes you think her job is crappy?  From her posting history, it's very evident that she truly enjoys her job.

Yeah, it's HER that can't understand the enjoyment she doesn't have. You understand her life better than she does. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Oh, and add this:

"You seem happy with what you are doing and do not want anymore from life. " -- We should ALL be so content.   If we were all that content, then I think the world would be a better, happier place.

I'm so sorry to hear that you don't realize what's important. And I"m sorry to hear that you have a life that needs a turn-around.
