My little taste

Today I am getting a little taste of what it would be like if I were to SAH rather than WOH.   I am off work and DH is working.

I am getting  the errands done that I usually do Friday evening/weekends. Really enjoyed doing my grocery shopping when the stores were fairly empty.  In a bit I am going out for lunch with DD3.

I do realize that it is just a small taste.  If I were home full time I would not be doing laundry, grocery shopping or going out for lunch every day and there are some things that I would be doing that I am not today.

Well, because in the summers she is usually off (not staying at home) stalking astronauts. *wink*

<<Very different, I think even between the summer and school year with school age kids it can feel different.  I know that if I was sahm now with my kids that ages they are, I would have a lot of time that is completely my own.  I've felt that way for years, which is partly why I work.

Do you now enjoy time completely on your own? I am not really understanding this as I absolutely love the time I have just for myself and not even just doing things FOR myself but being able to do things in the home, running errands, etc. I actually miss my "me" time (my lunch hour during the week) during the summer when my teen is home (and awake lol). >>

Of course I do, what a silly question...are you assuming that work takes up all of my me time?  Or that I don't enjoy working?  I'm not following your leap here from my comments to your question and/or misunderstanding.  What is that you don't understand and please note that I said nothing about not enjoying me time.

So you partly work because you would have a lot of free time. Am I reading this correctly? Why wouldn't you want more free time?

I know the question was not to me but in my case it is because more free time  does not mean better.   I have plenty of free time now working,  so having more free time not working would not be better.

Because I already have enough.   When you have enough of something (whatever it is)  more does not mean better it just means more.

So if you did not WOH but SAH it would be too much time to yourself?

">So if you did not WOH but SAH it would be too much time to yourself?

Not too much but more than I need.  I am an introvert that actually does need a lot of down time to de-stress.  But I have that now even with working.  A big part of that is  because  I am an emptynester.   When I was working the same hours but still actively raising kids I did  not always have the downtime I needed to de-stress.

So you wouldn't take the extra time to do things with friends and outside things if I am reading this correctly. You just want some extra time to de-stress.
