One more tip: Following a discussion

The conversations on the debate boards can get really long but an easier way to follow a lengthy discussion is... When you are in 'reply' mode you'll see a blue link at the bottom left 'view discussion in a pop-up window' so you can type your message in your first window and look at the discussion separately. Plus if you

"Right now, this board reads like I'm overhearing disjointed conversations at nearby tables in a restaurant instead of having a converstaion over coffee with friends in the kitchen."

Exactly!

Pat, I just wanted to say that while I haven't made a decision fully one way or the other, the fact is, I'm leaning heavily towards leaving iVillage, based on this new change in format (and I stuck it out when iVillage went from the old Parentsplace formatting to Prospero).

Even if I go, however, please know that I have found your involvement on the boards to be very helpful and positive.

I agree, I am also considering leaving, which saddens me greatly.

I will just ditto everything Puss and Cupcake said. You have been awesome Pat, and you have a sense of humor.

It is sort of odd for me, I found my first parenting board on Parentspace way back in the day when dd was a preschooler. Then it became Parentsoup, then iVillage, formats changed, the Borg came and went ... Three weeks after dd leaves for college it looks like the boards are dying out. I am glad they held out long enough to see me through having a kid under my roof ;). The board I originally posted on lost the archives in the format change, almost as if dd's childhood evaporated into cyberspace, lol.

I'll just echo what PBK and Cupcake and Rollmops have said.

I feel the same as PBK, cupcakes, Rollmops & lauren all have said. I started at Parent Soup back my I had one little dd and was pregnant with #2, that was 1998!

Jumping on the bandwagon, too. Thanks so much Pat, I really do appreciate all that you've done. We can be a rowdy bunch, but you've always been reasonable and approachable!

As for this new format....it pretty much stinks, and I just don't have the patience for it. I will likely still peek in from time to time, but I can't imagine that will last too long....

I would sincerely hate to see you go! Over the past several days many of you have offered your feedback about the recent changes to the message boards. Your responses have been extremely valuable for us and we are constantly impressed by the passion of our community. Our team has been reviewing your comments carefully and this week we have been able to make several updates to the boards based on your input. These updates include: adding "in reply to" information to messages (extremely helpful with debates), better access to your board profile and suppressing the repeated original messages at the top of multi-page discussions. We have also been able to address some technical issues and improve the load time of the boards. We continue to review all of the feedback we've
