Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, to the office, Dr. Phil airs a segment that will no doubt have working moms up in arms.

Jessica is the SAHM referred to in the original post who made the "outsourcing" argument.

It is the same when some people argue that moms should sah, but she/he had better work if it means going on public assistance.

"I wouldn't outsource loving my husband, why would I outsource loving my kids?"

I guess her husband can't work either then, since if he isn't home with her all day the loving of him is being "outsourced." Loving other people is a full time job you know!

Basically, Jessica equates the hiring of a babysitter, or use of a daycare facility for the kids with the hiring of a surrogate (a hooker perhaps?) for the husband.

I suppose the kids aren't allowed to see their grandparents or the rest of their extended family either, or go on playdates, since that would be just like asking your husband to cheat on you.

Seriously though, I'm just trying to picture the times I hired a sitter or placed my child in a daycare. I know we talked about how they would be cared for, the routines, food preparation, social interaction and activities. I don't recall any part of the fee being payment for "loving" my kids. Guess I should have asked more questions!

Also, under this theory am I supposed to be sending a mothers day card to all my old babysitters? Because I've kind of forgotten their names.

Ut oh, better insource that quick before you get a ticket from the bad mommy police. Imagine, someone caring for you child actually doing it with love. What were you thinking?

ZOMG you're right! And I can't send him to my parents, coz they love him too! ONOZ! I'll have to become a SAHM and live in a cardboard box. I hear Ikea has nice ones.
